Low production per vine, high quality

The newest plantings, those done in the last 10 years in the Morellino di Scansano production zone, were created with a goal in mind, to improve the quality of the grapes that go into making the wine by keeping yields per plant rather low.

The most common trellising system is espalier and the pruning system that in some the older vines was “capovolto semplice and capovolto doppio” is now moving towards cordon training, with lesser number of buds per plant and per hectare.
